An Open Nshipyard project
Which Ontario ERs got slower this year?
Ontario Health publishes monthly wait times for every hospital emergency department, but never ranks them. We scraped the per-site tables into one ranked, downloadable time series: 159 hospital ERs, 13 months, four wait-time measures.
4.7
hours to first assessment at Queensway-Carleton Hospital, the slowest ER in 2026-08
0.5
hours at Southlake Regional Health Centre, the fastest ER in 2026-08
2.1
hours: the provincial average wait to first assessment in 2026-08
159
hospital ERs ranked every month, 2025-08 to 2026-08
The provincial wait to first assessment, by month

What this project does
Ontario Health's wait-time tool shows one hospital at a time and never ranks them. This project pulls the monthly per-site tables into a single time series, ranks every ER every month, tracks which ones got faster or slower, and shows which nearby ER is faster than yours. The full series downloads as CSV, and an API and MCP server expose every number.
